A Year of Progress in the Fight Against Cheating and Fraud in Gaming

As we close out the year, we wanted to take a moment to reflect on all that we’ve achieved and look ahead to what the future holds. It’s been a challenging year, especially given the increasing number of bad actors and cheaters in the world of online gaming. However, we’re proud of our progress in developing Anybrain for detecting and preventing fraud and cheating in online video games. We’re excited to share a summary of our accomplishments and outline our ambitions for the coming year.

The increasing problem of cheating and fraud in online gaming

Unfortunately, cheating and fraud have become major problems in the world of online gaming. Cheaters have created new different ways to achieve unfair advantage while playing different types of games, increasingly creative and faster to overcome the game’s defenses (AI is coming not only as a defense method, but also as an attack method, and … it is starting to be the base of many cheats and hacks). These actions not only ruin the gaming experience for fair players but can also cost developers millions of dollars in lost revenue. The fight against cheating and fraud is a difficult and ongoing battle, but it’s a necessary one. That’s why we founded Anybrain — to help combat these issues and create a fairer and more enjoyable gaming environment for everyone.

Highlights of the past year and Goals for the coming year

This past year has been a busy and successful one for us. We not only opened our platform to the community which allowed us to be present and help some of the most popular videogames, with more in the pipeline, but we also worked directly with them to bring more functionality and improve the Anybrain technology. In addition, we’ve grown our team by hiring talented professionals in key roles, including developers and customer support staff. We’ve also had the opportunity to participate in several industry events and conferences, as well as participating in the community, which is increasingly attentive, and fundamental in this mission.

As we look ahead to the coming year, we have a number of ambitious goals that we’re excited to pursue. We certainly want to ensure that games are increasingly fair, and that bad actors will become a thing of the past, but we don’t want to just stop there, we want to help improve the gaming experience as a whole because this is actually what it’s all about. Some Anybrain features for this mission are public (anybrain.gg) and others that will be revealed over the next year. Be certain that we will build them together with our customers and partners.
